Get This One if You Have a BC!

I really like this book. As a longtime border collie owner, it is refreshing to find a book by an author who truly knows the breed and truly understands the unique training issues. Also, Barbara has some fantastic suggestions, that I as a veterinary nurse and dog trainer, had never heard of! I have implemented a few already with my new pup. Caution to the reader: there are a few issues with medical science inaccuracies. For example, the author warns about too much exercise too young causing hip dysplasia - not true. It's a genetically passed condition and either the individual has malformed hips at BIRTH or not. (Exercise too young can however affect other joints and bone formation..) Also, some of the comments about nutrition are based on myth, not sound medicine. But if you get past those issues, this is a useful and valuable book for border collie owners. I went right back and bought her other book about BCs.

When I saw this book it got me interested and all. If you can see auras, you can read auras with this book. It's a practical guide to seeing human auras and I can't believe it's doable. Great guide!

Sometimes you need a book on certain topics because the amount of information available online is very minimal. If you do a google search on auras the info is very limited. I was very surprised at the level of detail presented in this book by Mia. I was not expecting find so much unique content and detailed analysis.

I found the Science and Auras section to be the most valuable as book juxtaposes the two topics which seem to be completely opposite. I definitely recommend this book for anyone looking for a solid introduction to this spiritual but slightly scientific topic. Looking forward to more of Mia's works.

This isn't a textbook full of complicated theory and formulas. It's a great go-to reference for people designing plastic components and assemblies. After a crash course in materials and plastics, it covers all of the fundamental methods for securing/fastening (snap fits, living hinges, etc.) parts together and lists the essential formulas and ratios necessary to design those features. Everything is well illustrated and there are also plenty of real world examples.

This book dated back 15 years - I know this because it is/was a library book - the date stamp panel and category label are still there.
The page edges have been scribbled upon
The book itself is in very poor condition - binding has gone and pages are falling out.
The technical content is what I wanted but I can't believe I paid near $32 for it.

Exciting history

This is one of the best stories narrated under graphic classics. It is also the first time that I had heard of Molly Pitcher. the story of how this woman takes part during the Revolutionary War by shooting her husband's cannon herself, is absolutly stunning. Her courage thrilled me. It is the kind of story that keeps children interested in history. I highly recommend it to young readers.

Age range more like 7-10

Daughter liked the book, but age range of 8-14 seems too broad. She is an average student/reader who loves graphic novels and wanted this to satisfy her requirement for a biography book report. It took her about 5 minutes to read. We'd hoped for something a little more substantial. To be fair, I should have noticed the # of pages in the description for a better indication of the content/level.

a great rereading of a traditioned interpretation

There are so many projects out there right now that see issue with reformation approaches to the theology, and few protestants are responding in a way that's helpful. Andersen isn't really trying to answer critics of Luther as much as he's providing a better interpretation of his him. Gerrish and others have made a certain understanding of Luther's view of reason gospel. Andersen does a brilliant job of offering a better narrative.
I'd give the book 5 stars, but the only thing missing is the footwork in 1 (2?) areas. All of the quotes are in Latin or German with no translation. This book would be more accessible, I think, if these quotes were translated and the citations crossreferenced to the english editions.

I thought I'd read all I needed to, but found a plethora of information in this book.

At the age of 57 in the space of 2 minutues I lost the sight in my right eye due to a vascular event. This book was recommended to me and I read it about 10 days later. As I am a physician most of the concepts were not new to me but they are well laid out and there is no medical jargon. Most of the techniques to compensate for monocular (one eyed) vision are fairly simple and you figure them out for yourself. That said, this book is a very useful guide for the newly one eyed and I would recomend it. It will probably shorten the time it takes to become fully adapted, to the new visual reality.

I am 72 years old woman. 6 years ago I lost my right eye to freak illness. My eye had to be
surgically removed.
I have perfectly fitted prostetic eye. You hardly can tell the difference. But when I needed to renew my driving
licence I faced the problem with DMV. Those stupids did not had a clue what "monovision" means and how it
Effect the driving ability. They said it is "disability", and This Book explains it as "inconvinience". Further than 3ft
in front everybody sees the same with one or two eyes. Showing this book to safety officer helped me to get my
driving priviledgies back!
